The “Late Bloomer” Athletic Journey
- Basketball: ROAR Sport Award Recipient
- Awarded the ROAR Award (Respect, Opportunity, Achievement, Responsibility) for the 9B team.
- Competed across multiple years (9B, 10B, 10C, and Open Fourths), developing the hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness that I now apply to my golf game.
- Volleyball: Elite Team Representative
- Represented Wesley College in the 9A Volleyball Team (the highest level for that age group).
- Continued competing through the Open Thirds, honing the vertical explosiveness and fast-twitch muscle fibers essential for modern golf swing speed.
- House Athletics & Swimming
- Annual competitor in track and field and swimming events. I am a firm believer in supporting the team/house in any capacity required, regardless of whether it is my primary sport.
Campus Engagement & House Spirit
My involvement at Wesley College includes:
- Performance Arts: Consistent participation in the annual House Dance competition (Years 9, 10, and 11).
- Cultural Engagement: Active participant in Lunar New Year Games and international community events.
- Strategic & Social Competitions: Participation in House Kahoot, Paper Plane design challenges, and Limbo competitions to earn points for Powell House.
Personal Statement
“I believe that elite performance is built on a foundation of versatility and resilience. My background as a multi-sport athlete and House Captain at Wesley College has taught me that success is not just about individual skill, but about the responsibility one has toward their team and community. I approach golf with the same ‘never-give-up’ mindset that saw me progress to the highest fitness tiers at Clunes and fight back in high-pressure Pennant matches. My goal is to bring this blend of academic discipline, leadership, and athletic grit to a US college program where I can contribute to a winning culture both on and off the course.”
